Hello everyone, long time. Some years ago you supported this petition we sent to then PM Theresa May, demanding she made Mental Health services a Human Right, not a luxury. 

Since then I have continued campaigning, and I have become a Labour Councillor for the London Borough of Hackney. I'm very proud to announce that my motion 'Mental Health a Human Right for All' has been passed and adopted at full Council in the London Borough of Hackney.

This campaign to make mental health our human right began back in 2017 when nearly 13,000 of you signed this petition addressed to then PM Theresa May, and though we received a standard response, it was very powerful to stand united for mental health. 

As you know since then a growing #mentalhealth crisis has left many more on excruciating waiting lists, some waiting years for support.

I wanted to share this update and invite you to join forces to achieve the long-due recognition of our Mental Health as part of our Fundamental Human Rights.
