We call on better law enforcement at long island even if this requires a fee to be charged by tourists to launch there to aid in funding.

Long island reserve, Murray bridge is the closest boat ramp as you come off the high way, it's also a place where there is no law enforcement. 

From Friday afternoon to late Sunday evening long island is a lawless circus where jet skis and boats come within meters of swimmers and kayakers (many being young children) and slowing down is not something they choose to do.

Police have been called with not even a warning to people involved and previously a boat even hit the peir with children near by.

Locals should not have to run hiding to the pool or use the limited places where boats and jet skis follow rules outside the rowing club at Sturt.

Locals are being told to pay to go to the pool or pay to use the marina and caravan mean while those visiting are given free use of our beautiful river and no law enforcement.

Not long ago a child swimming was run over by a jet ski on the river, it will be a matter of time when this happens at long island. 

We are told they bring money to the region but infact this is rarely the case for those coming to long island.
