If you have lived in Lakeland for more than 1 year you have felt and noticed the impact  of the multiple raises in rates for monthly electric usage. 
Many families have made major changes to their homes to make their monthly electric bill more economical (replacing roof, replacing windows, getting a new air conditioner, adding insulation, etc). Frustratingly, despite families doing all that they can for electric usage, with rate raises for all, the bill is still soaring up higher with each passing month. 

With NO competition to the Lakeland Electric Company, the monopoly of this company is uncontrollable. A natural monopoly would mean that even with no existing competition that the pricing should still be comparable as if there was. 

There’s also little opportunity for escape with solar options because the compatibility with Lakeland Electric makes that choice nearly redundant in monthly cost relief. 

Sign this petition to demonstrate there is a common need for change with rates and relief for Lakelanders so we can STAY residents of Lakeland and not be pushed out because of something as silly as an electric bill.
