The Issue

Jalen Brunson carried the Knicks through losses, comebacks, and wins throughout the 2026 NBA playoffs and united New York City through pure hope, happiness and joy. Without him, the San Antonio Spurs would have destroyed the Knicks. But because of his agility, skill, athleticism, and acute perspicacity, the Knicks won the finals for the first time in 53 years, hence his Knickname, “Captain Clutch.”

Jalen Brunson is not only an astonishingly talented basketball player, but also a kind, loving, and caring person too. He has an adorable 1 year old daughter named Jordyn, who was with him on the parade float with him on the 18th, and a wife named Ali who has supported him throughout his career since 2013.

That is why June 13th, the day where Brunson hit 45 out of the 94 points the Knicks scored and vanquished the Spurs, should become Brunson Day, a statewide celebration of Captain Clutch’s courage and bravery. According to a report, over 500,000 Brunson jerseys have been sold to people across New York. Imagine what it would be like if all of those people could celebrate him united on one big party in the city.
