Make Jollibee Golden Mile (1900 Eglinton Ave E) halal-certified

The Issue

We, the residents of the Golden Mile and surrounding Scarborough neighbourhoods—led by the prominent and community-focused Bengali populations of Victoria Park, Danforth, and Warden—are formally calling on Jollibee Canada to transition its 1900 Eglinton Ave E location to a 100% Halal-certified facility.

The Golden Mile is a premier commercial hub serving a vast Muslim population that currently cannot patronize Jollibee due to a lack of Halal certification. For many in our community who have relocated from Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, Jollibee is a cherished brand known for its 100% Halal operations. These families wish to continue this legacy with their children in Canada; however, the lack of a certified location in Scarborough prevents them from doing so.

A Proven Mandate for Change:

Documented Public Demand: There is an overwhelming volume of requests from the Muslim community across Jollibee’s digital platforms. A review of feedback on Google Maps reveals a consistent and significant trend of potential customers requesting Halal options so they may finally bring their families to your establishment.

A National Destination: As there is currently no 100% Halal-certified Jollibee in the region, this location would immediately become a premier destination for Muslim families across the GTA and throughout Canada.

Market Leadership: Following the successful 2024 transition of major chains like KFC to Halal menus across Ontario, it is clear that the market is ready. With the Canadian Halal food market growing by 13% annually, this transition represents a significant economic opportunity to capture a loyal and expanding demographic.

Moreover, 100% Halal certification would demonstrate Jollibee’s commitment to inclusivity by reflecting the cultural and religious makeup of the Scarborough community. As evidenced by other global brands, this transition can be integrated seamlessly into existing operations without compromising the iconic quality and flavour Jollibee is known for.

We believe that Halal certification at the Golden Mile location will foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect within our diverse community. It is a vital step toward ensuring that all families in the Golden Mile can share in the "Joy of Jollibee."

We invite Jollibee Canada to embrace our vibrant Scarborough community by making the necessary changes to become 100% Halal-certified at 1900 Eglinton Ave E..
