“When you’re smiling” is a recognisable song sung by many famous musicians. It is also an iconic song in the Leicester City terraces throughout the decades. Sadly while it is popular with the fans, it has never been truly embraced by the club despite periods of various ownerships. 

The current board have the opportunity to correct this. They have been exemplary owners, providing the fans with benevolence that fans seldom see in modern football and in return the fans are truly grateful for their stewardship and leadership of the club. 

This week, the team we defeated, PSV, of all teams played “When You’re Smiling” by Jersey Budd after the game and the fans serenaded it in a performance just as iconic as “You’ll never walk alone”, “I’m forever blowing bubbles”, “Marching on together”, “Glad all over” and even dare I say it, “Mull of Kintyre”/“Lost that loving feeling” by that lot from by the Trent. All that Leicester City needs to do is simply play “When you’re smiling” before the video montage at the kick off and immediately after games. This will generate a sound and an atmosphere unique to King Power Stadium and for Leicester City. The version played by Jersey Budd is slow enough for most supporters to join in and the words are clear and not hard to remember.
