Hey everyone!

I wanted to update you on the progress since launching this petition! and first, just say a massive thank you to every single person who has signed, commented, or shared their story. Your voices are already making an impact.

✨ I’ve now contacted multiple regulatory bodies, including:

Trading Standards
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS)
The MHRA
The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA)
And I’ve also reached out to my local MP
✅ I received a reply from Southwark Trading Standards, and while they explained their limited role in enforcing changes, they acknowledged the issue and even recommended further steps, including brand engagement and contacting national enforcement bodies like OPSS.

👀 What really stood out was their reminder that post-Brexit cosmetic labelling laws are changing by 2027—which presents a real opportunity for public safety and transparency in the Black haircare industry.

💡 I responded to them to clarify that even if brands don't have “official stockists,” listing the stores where they’re sold can help customers identify whether a product is legitimate or possibly fake.

This is real progress, we’ve officially entered the conversation with policy-makers and regulators. But this is only the beginning.

📣 What You Can Do:

Keep sharing the petition to help this message reach more decision-makers.

This issue is bigger than hair—it’s about trust, safety, and equity in the cosmetics industry. And I believe change is possible when we speak together.

With love and purpose,
