A Country which was once known for its tolerance & non violence has today become most intolerant & violent towards dogs of India.

India was a country where its people lived with community animals in complete harmony. Every Indian household made first chapati for cows & last one for dogs. The reason was that cows gave milk hence they were revered & called mata ( mother) & dogs gave security. So both were pampered in India.

Dogs used to sit outside every home without any fear of being beaten, burnt, relocated or killed. There are no historic evidences or literature which says Indian dogs were aggressive or threat to humans. Infact dogs were worshipped in many temples.

In hinduism dog is comsidered companion of Lord Bhairav (one of the forms of Lord Shiva who is also called Pashupatinath, the lord of animals). There are temples where dogs are worshipped

Jainism & Buddhism have originated in India & they preach non violence towards every living being. Jain saints care for indian dogs even today.

There lived only compassionate citizens who considered feeding hungry animals & birds their duty. Indian society was never divided into dog lovers & dog haters.

People like Swami Vivekanand who is renowned for his mesmerizing speech in Chicago & making India proud considered his duty to feed.dogs.

Shankracharya who are spiritual Gurus of India & whom all respect were equally compassionate towards Indian dogs. Kindly read this beautiful story where Shankracharya defended a dog who was relocated because he bit a child.

Dogs in those days were neither called aggressive not threat to children & elderly. They were never confined in shelters. They would roam freely without any fear

It was the British who came to India who started killing indian dogs by calling them rabid & wild. The Parsi community in India who are considered one of the most peace loving community waged a war against british when they decided to kill Indian dogs. This was the first & probably the last time parsi community is seen so intolerant & angry in the history of India

Hence Indian dog was never seen as aggressive nor enemy of children & elderly as is being portray now.

British left India in 1947 but their legacy of hate & fear against Indian dogs continues even today.

At present things have become worse. The society is divided into dog lovers & haters. There are often quarells between the two which have reached the courts.

It seems people sitting in animal welfare have worked for their welfare rather than welfare of animals.

ABC rules came in India in 2001 but it never got implemented in right manner. ABC ran in most complaint centric & random manner. Till date no ABC helpline numbers. There is no trasparency & no accountability, hence most of the cruelties happened & is happening in the name of ABC. And in many parts of India it is still not operational. Hence, corporations have indulged in killing dogs to control their population.

WHO has mandated to make world canine rabies free by 2030.

It's already 2024 & there is no plan of action in this regard in India.

There is no awareness about canine rabies. The general perception amongst the common man is that any dog bite will cause him rabies hence many healthy dogs who bite due human provocation are beaten to death.

There are no annual dog vaccination program by corporations.

Wonder how will India become canine rabies free?

Probably by declaring dogs aggressive & hoarding them in shelters? Because that's exactly what's being done.

No dog is aggressive yet corporations are making shelters for such dogs. And what are people in animal welfare doing? Probably abeting this most cruel & unscientific move for their vested interest. They have failed dogs of India. They could neither create right awareness about dog rules nor dog behaviour. Now to hide their incompetancies & failures they are misleading the govt &  making dog shelters which will eventually lead to slow death of Indian dogs.

Every sector of India has a robust ministry except animal welfare. It's high time the ministry of Animal Husbandry takes full charge of Animal welfare & stops further misuse of funds, land & other govt resources in the name of Animal.welfare which are being used for personal.gains & not animal welfare.

Our honourable Prime Minister Modi advocates Jan Bhagidari (peoples participation) which at the moment is missing in animal welfare. The India prior to British invasion did practice people's participation in animal welfare which it needs to revive back.

There is need for massive reforms in animal sector which at the moment is plagued by corruption & greed.

Let's hope & pray our Govt & Judiciary sees the truth & saves our indian dogs from further torture & extinction
