After Kerala now it's Karnataka. Dozens of dogs were picked up like filth in a truck and then dumped God knows where (Pic in the post). This barbaric incident has taken place in sangrur, Karnataka. The reporter is trying to find where the dogs have been taken but no one knows where they are. Are they even alive?

Well it seems this is how the municipal corporation is trying to make their area canine rabies free. By removing the canines only.
After a couple of accidents of pet dogs biting people in lifts and the non stop media coverage which only spread venom for pet dogs, dog owners and the foreign breed dog pit bull there has been a rise in dog abandonment especially pit bull. 15 dogs have been abandoned by their owners in front of house of stray a shelter home in Noida. The RWAs and the AOA in have made strict laws for the pets and its owners. A pet owner was manhandled for walking his pet in a society. Other residents now fear dogs and instead of removing their fear the AOA and RWAs are only adding fuel to fire.

A letter written by an RWA of an East Delhi colony to the Municipal corporation has gone viral. The letter is addressed to the deputy commissioner and a copy also sent to the deputy director Veterinary services. The letter says that some dogs of the colony have become habitual to bite and attack people. Some are very sick. The school going children who return from schools are scared of these dogs as in the afternoon everyone is sleeping in their homes and these children are alone without any stick in their hand to protect them. So dogs bite them and attack them. The elderly too are scared of these dogs. These dogs can be seen in groups in various streets. Every week there are 3 to 4 cases of dog bite. The letter also says that they have also enclosed the latest vaccination card of the children who have been bitten. The letter was put on the RWA whatsapp group. There are more than 300 flats in the pocket. Just imagine the kind of message which must have gone to all after reading this anti dog letter of the RWA. Caregivers are scared of being of feeding the dogs and all those who were indifferent to dogs have suddenly become anti dogs as they have started fearing that the dogs might bite them and their children. Already their was hostility and now this letter will create more hostility and intolerance towards dogs.

It's very unfortunate that the children have been bitten in this colony but before writing such a letter did the RWA try to find the reason why the dogs bit the children or why suddenly they have become so aggressive. Dogs do not bite witnout provocation. The RWA itself is mentioning that the children don't have sticks in their hands when they are coming back from school.. This clearly tells us that the adults including the RWA walk with sticks in their hands. And it wouldn't be surprising if they also beat the dogs and shoo them away with sticks. In that case they have already invited the dogs to bark.at them.and bite them. Unknowingly they have made the dogs unfriendly to them.
A caregiver Sushma (M-+919560984575) is constantly harassed for feeding the dogs in the area for past several years. She is the only one who feeds the dogs in her area as no one else feeds them. She feeds around 15 to 20 dogs. For a month (August) she had gone to visit her daughter in Australia. During that time she had asked her maid to feed the dogs. When she returned in September two dogs had become unfriendly. They are old dogs who are more than seven years old. They are neither rabid nor were unfriendly one month back. But now they have started barking at people and cases of dog bites have also happened. Sushma doesn't know why friendly dogs have suddenly become unfriendly. She is constantly abused and harassed by the the residents for the feeding the dogs. All the dogs are sterilized and Sushma gets them vaccinated every year.
Thr RWA is thankless to all the efforts made by the caregivers. They have never carried out sterilization nor got the dogs vaccinated.
This is the same RWA who almost two years back had prohibited pet dogs from entering public parks.
It was only after the intervention of the PFA Founder and Member of Parliament Maneka Gandhi that the prohibition was removed.
And a year before that the same RWA had put obnoxious no feeding boards not to feed stray dogs in the colony. The boards were then removed by the caregivers themselves with the help of PFA member and Director of Sanjay Gandhi Animal.Care Centre Ambika Shukla.
What can be expected from such an RWA which has such an unfriendly and anti dog history. They have themselves been mean towards dogs and they are spreading the same meaness and hatred for dogs to the residents.
This is the condition of almost all the RWAs and whatever hatred for dogs and the man dog and man man conflict we are witnessing today it is majorly because of such RWAs. Just sharing a previous post of where anothrer RWA of the same locality of East Delhi had put boards prohibiting entering of dogs in parks.
RWAs have become like owners of the colony. They think the society belongs to them and they can do what they like. They are making their own illegal laws and implementing them.
Dogs are the man's best friend but unfortunately in India it is considered man's enemy.
India is becoming a land of dog haters. And if this is how the situation stays then soon it will become canine free.
