The unfortunate incident which has taken place in Alwar Rajasthan is the epitome of cruelty. Wonder if these people are Indians or are they human Anacondas who have landed from some other hostile planet. Because they don't seem humans.  Even tribals of India who live in forests are more civilized and humane than these dirty filthy inhabitants of cities and villages of India. A dog was mercilessly beaten to death and his three paws chopped off by the accused who are a Father and a son (pic in the post). Only people with strong heart should watch this video:

An FIR has been lodged and the accused have been arrested.

While dogs were sleeping one man came with a stick and beat them up and another poured hot water on them. Just watch the video to believe how human anacondas keep provoking the dogs all the time and then lie that the dogs bit them unprovoked.

Someone has inserted a sharp weapon in a dog's stomach in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Wonder how the dog is still running with it. It should have been dead by now.

A bike rider deliberately crushed a pup on the road under his wheels. The road was empty and the pup was visible yet the man chose to turn a blind eye. Probably he enjoyed killing the pup. Is he human?

This is a cruelty case of Sheru who lived in South Delhi. He was beaten so badly that he had injuries all over his body including multiple fractures on his legs and back and his teeth were also broken. Luckily he was rescued by an Animal Welfare NGO (Love for Animals Lord Buddha Foundation) and after several days of treatment and lot of care he is today walking and running. Who is responsible for all this cruelty?

The Government definitely. Both the centre and the state governments have turned a blind eye to all this cruelty. Aren't they aware that such cruelties are happening every day. Some get reported and there are many who get unreported. But what are they doing to stop them? Neither the animal laws have been amended nor any public awareness been made regarding animal cruelty. Majority of the Indians are still ignorant that beating or killing a dog is a punishable offence. No matter how small the penalty but at least there is a penalty. The worse part is that many times even policemen of the area are unaware about these laws. This is indeed shameful.

The responsibility of getting stray dogs sterilised  (ABC-Animal Birth Control Program) is that of the Municipal Corporation. But have the municipal corporations done their job well?

An activist in Surat, Gujarat filed an RTI (Right to information) seeking information regarding the ABC program being run by Surat Municipal Corporation. He came to know that the corporation has spent around 4 Crore rupees in sterilising 46000 stray dogs in 6 years (2014 to 2020). According to him there is a scam going on and both the corporation as well as the private contractors who have got the contract for sterilisation are making money in the name of ABC program. The main objective of reducing the stray dog population has still not been achieved because the dogs in Surat don't seem to be reducing, rather they have only increased. To read the report in detail kindly go on the link below (Oct 10, 2020):

Another activist in Indore, Madhya Pradesh made a plea in the high court of Madhya Pradesh saying that 21 crore rupees have been spent on sterilisation of stray dogs in the city of Indore in the last 5 years (2015- 2020) but the stray dog numbers have not decreased. Rather they have only increased. According to the private contractors they perform around 90 -100 operations daily but still the population has not been contained. The activist further said that 4-5 dogs are killed during operation itself. To read the report in detail kindly go on the link below (Feb, 12, 2021)

Similarly it has been brought to light that 4 crore rupees have been spent on sterilising 50000 dogs in the last five years in the city of Ludhiana (Nov, 6, 2020)

It seems the activists are of the view that the the ABC program is a failure and the govt is unnecessarily wasting money on it. Because it has neither reduced the dog population nor the cases of dog bites. They use the words dog menace. And one of them has also advocated for a dog house where all street dogs can be dumped in those houses.

What they don't know is that the ABC program is the only feasible and humane solution to reduce stray dog population but unfortunately the municipal corporations across India including Delhi and Mumbai do it in the most unsystematic and shabby manner. They follow random approach in picking up dogs which is mostly based on public complaints. People's participation is a must for the success of the ABC program but unfortunately people do not know about it. And the result is right in front of us. Crores of rupees just wasted. And if the corporations still continue using the same approach then the population will never get controlled. While they sterilise 5-6 dogs in one area in another area a female dog delivers 10 pups out of which at least 4-5 survive and are ready for procreation in next 7 to 8 months. So the net result is the same. No decrease in population rather their numbers only increase.

For the success of the ABC program It's important that the corporation created awareness about the ABC program and dog rules which clearly says that dogs of an area cannot be relocated.

It's very shameful that many corporations instead of creating awareness about the ABC program and dog rules are succumbing to the pressures of the public which is hostile towards dogs.

The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation last year initiated a drive to sterilise dogs living in public parks. The corporation officer said "the street dogs create a nuisance for people who go to parks". If  this is the way the custodians of stray dogs speak then what can be expected from a common man of India who believes that every stray dog is rabid and he bites without provocation. The senior veterinary officer of the corporation further appealed to the residents to stop feeding stray dogs. He said, “The residents should also understand their responsibility and should not feed stray dogs in public parks, as it will add to the problem and the visitors have to bear the brunt. The stray dogs do not leave the place where they are fed, and this can take a toll on the public. We are not stopping residents from feeding the dogs but if they want to feed the stray dogs, they should do it in their localities"

Nothing can be more absurd and inhuman than this. If the dogs are not fed then they will anyway starve to death. Does the officer want the dogs to starve to death because unfed they will eventually die. If the corporation does not make any arrangement for their food then the least they can do is encourage people to feed the dogs. Whether it be a residential colony, public park, market area, educational institution or an office complex the dogs living in these areas should be fed by the people living around those areas.

Have the municipal corporation officers who are making appeal to the public not to feed stray dogs thought as to why the dogs in the park run and chase people and sometimes even bite?

To know the answer they should starve themselves and keep themselves thirsty for at least a day. All these officers will know then what provoked the dogs to bark, chase and bite.

Needless to say the dogs are also beaten up with sticks and rods......
