While in most of the animal cruelty cases the Indian police is often seen siding with the culprits and the dog haters. But there are a few police officers who are of a different league. They are not only doing their official duty with full integrity but also taking that extra step to ensure the safety and security of their four legged friends.
One such police officer is Arpit Jain, an IPS officer who studied MBBS in his graduation. He could have easily practiced medicine but he chose to serve the country and joined the police service. He is not only well educated but has put his education into best use by not only serving the people of India but also the voiceless of India. Through his Facebook page and Twitter page he tries to spread the message of non violence, kindness and compassion towards the animals. He along with his wife have rescued several street animals in and around their area which happens to be Faridabad. They have inspired several police personnel working under them as well as the ordinary man of India to be compassionate towards animals. They have recently built a house for their four legged friend Kukku (pic in the post) to save her from the chilling cold. Rarely we find a police officer and a medical doctor also being a caregiver. Wish India had more such IPS caregivers. To read all about the good work he is doing kindly go on the link below:

Another police officer is Sudhir Kudalkar. He is ACP in the Maharashtra police. The growing violence and intolerance towards dogs in Maharashtra led him to form a group called 'Pal Adoption and Rescue Group'. This group not only rescues dogs but also helps in their adoption. He has also made a Pal Legal Team which comprises of around 25 advocates who are ever ready to give their help and assistance to caregivers and dog feeders who are being harassed, hounded and sometimes assaulted by dog haters. Needless to say that the team also fights for justice for the voiceless animals who have met with human cruelty. To know all about the good work of this Samaritan kindly go on his Facebook page link:

These police officers are the pride of the nation. It is because of their selfless service that India's voiceless and their caregivers feel safe and secure.
Wish India had more police officers like them.......
