Although human cruelty towards the street animals have not stopped in India but it seems the law enforcement agencies have awakened and are now quick in taking action against the culprits.
In Vaishali, Ghaziabad a four month old pup was badly beaten up by a lady (pic in the post) by an iron rod. The caregivers without wasting time went to the police station and filed a complaint against the culprit. They were accompanied with the PFA (People for Animals) officials and the pup was taken to the PFA shelter. But according to Surbhi Rawat the PFA head Ghaziabad the pup is in a critical cocondition. Another incident of dog cruelty was reported from Nandhi Hills, Chikkaballapur district in Bangalore. It has been reported that a tourist threw a stray dog down the hill on 27th September 2020. This was seen by the public present there. And the same was reported to Arun Prasad who is the candidate for MP from Bangalore Central and also the BSP vice president in Bangalore South District. Arun without wasting anytime organized a rescue team comprising of the Bangalore Adventure School Rock climbers, including its founder Gokul, Animal Rescuer Asrar Khan, the Nandhi Hills Police and the AHVS Veterinary Doctor who all went in search of the dog. They searched everywhere but the dog was not found. The locals in that area told the rescue team that the dog survived without getting hurt because the thick long grass and bushes worked as cushion for him. But just imagine if the land was grassless and without bushes then what would have happened to the poor soul???
The good news is that the Chikkaballapur AHVS DD has informed the Nandhi Hills Veterinary Doctor to coordinate with the police so that the case may be filed by the Animal Husbandry Department once the police traces the culprit...

Although this petition is primarily for dogs but today I wish to share a video of how municipality picks up cows in India. Unlike dogs the stray cows can be put in cow shelters but the way they are picked.......you got to see it to believe it.
Cow shelter again is not a very feasible solution and the govt should devise a better policy which is more sustainable and practical. Majority of the cow shelters unfortunately are financially bleeding to death and so are the cows. They are more like death homes for them. Many cows are half dead on their way to the shelter.
This incident has been reported from Gujarat the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi.
