Swati (M-+91 98712 03025) a resident of Mansarovar Park, Shahadra, East Delhi feeds dogs of her area and the adjoining areas. But as always her neighbours are quite intolerant towards her feeding and the dogs. She shares a common staircase with other residents of the building in which she stays. Sometimes the dogs come up and sit on the staircase. This is nothing unusual. Dogs often follow the caregivers to their home especially if they stay in a building. It's quite a common sight in India. Dogs often take refuge in staircases during rainy season. But man has become so cruel that they have shut all such places for dogs. Dog haters who unfortunately are in majority in India have shut down even public places for dogs like public parks, common passages like the staircases etc by putting gates. Now how cruel is that. An animal too requires a place to sit without the fear of being harmed. But a stray dog is constantly kicked and shooed. He is kept hungry and thirsty too.
Now how will any living being react if he is kept hungry, thirsty and constantly kicked and shooed?
If the dogs of Mansarovar Park bite then it is the residents who are responsible for it. Although Swati says that the dogs are very tolerant and do not bite.
Anyhow Swati's residents have done just that. They have put gates right at the entrance of the building. And when one of her dogs tries to climb the stairs her neighbour Vinod Kumar Raghav hits them.. A dog bled profusely when he hit him on his head for cliimbing the stairs .Swati is treating the dog and giving him antibiotic.
The same dirty and filthy man has put obnoxious posters which says " Beware dogs may bite, we are fed up of dogs and a bitch, kindly keep the gates locked" (pic in the post). This miserable man is not only instigating people against the dogs by spreading rumours that the dogs may bite but also openly abusing Swati and calling her a bitch.
This man is not only guilty of hitting the dogs and spreading rumours against them.that they bite but also insulting, abusing and defaming a woman publicly by putting these wreched posters all over the building.
Swati made a complaint against this man to both PFA and the AWBI. She went all the way from Delhi to Ballabhgargh in Haryana (head office of AWBI) to make the complaint. Let's see what action the AWBI takes against this shameless creature.
PFA was quick in action and threatened Viond Kumar Raghav and also asked Swati to speak to the SHO of Mansarovar Park Police Station.. Swati did just that and told everything to the SHO. The SHO was quite cooperative and summoned Vinod Kumar and gave him a warning.
But this man has no fear of law, he has not mend his ways. He still hits dogs and he has not removed the filthy posters. The posters are still hanging all around the building. To make matters worse the RWA of the area has also joined hands. They are beating the dogs, breaking the water posts. putting gates in parks and staircases and harassing the caregivers.
Swati was completely shattered when six of her known dogs died within a week's time. She suspects poisoning the cause of death. And she suspects the RWA behind this gruesome killing. Recently the RWA members came to her house and threatened her of dire consequences. They also said that they will get the dogs removed. She fears that the remaining dogs too will be poisoned by the RWA and the dog haters of her colony. The RWA President is Devi prasad singh (M- 9811543176) and the RWA Secretary is Chutrvedi (M- 9716175175).
Swati needs help..........so also her dogs......as their life is in danger.......
This is Delhi the capital of India. And this is how animal laws are implemented in this city. The dog haters openly flout the rules and the caregivers watch them doing it helplessly.
The rabies poster put up by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation has been removed this week. It's such a relief to see them go after 8 long months. Hopefully the posters have been removed from all places in East Delhi. Because if even one is left, it will keep poisoning the minds of people of Delhi against dogs.
The people responsible for putting the posters should realize that the posters have done more harm than any good. It has poisoned the minds of the people against the dogs and the result is right in front of us.
Will the MCD now attleast mend it's ways and do some sensible awareness programme. An awareness which can bring man closer to dogs and not vice versa.
