For all those who can't digest the thought that a man can be killed  by another man just for feeding dogs may like to know about the following incident which took place on 21st June 2020 at Bali Nagar, New Delhi. 

Few bravehearts and selfless caregivers of Delhi ( Kunal, Vasundhara, Siddhant, Lalima and Uday) went to Bali Nagar to pick up dogs for sterilization. Apparently Siddhant, Lalima and Uday are residents of the same area and have been feeding around 100 dogs ever since the lockdown. last year they got around 13 dogs of their area sterilized and this year too they wanted to do the same. 

Kunal and Vasundhara went to help and assist them in their much needed drive but what happened with them is disgusting and unimaginable. 

While they were picking up the dogs two men Anil Rai and Sanjay Rai who are residents of the Bali Nagar started opposing them and asked them to stop picking up the dogs. They accused them of picking up the dogs for experimenting for Covid. 

The caregivers tried to explain their purpose for picking up the dogs but they just didn't listen. On being asked if they feed the dogs or take care of them they said no. 

The two men who seem to be educated and from a well to do family not only abused the caregivers but also physically assaulted them. But, the caregivers didn't give up. Inspite of all the opposition, assaults and insults they carried on with their drive. However, by the end of the drive these two goons called four more men and a local cop from the nearest police station. They all together now started abusing the caregivers and asked them to stop the drive. 

On that the caregivers told them to talk at the police station to which they all agreed. The caregivers waited for one full hour at the police station but these goons didn't turn up. Then the caregivers decided to lodge an official complaint against them but the police personnel were reluctant to file the complaint. Ultimately they gave a written document to the police. 

This is the character of the police, which often sides with the goons and ill informed and misinformed people of India who stop caregivers from feeding and getting the dogs sterilized.  For the entire incident and the video showing the shameless goons and their obnoxious act kindly go on the link below:

After this incident, will Kunal, Vasundhara, Siddhant, Lalima and Uday go again to get the dogs sterilized?

They are courageous youngsters of India and may go again but somewhere deep within they will again have the fear of being abused and manhandled. Is that good for their mental and emotional health? This is the trauma every caregiver faces in India. Isn't this human rights violation? 

Will these categivers again call 100 (police number) because they didn't  get any help from them nor the local police helped them. Rather the local police was busy protecting and shielding the goons. The caregivers had video of the assualt but the police didn't find it worthy of a complaint. 

If this is the situation of Delhi the capital of India then God only knows what must be the condition of law and order in the other parts of India. 

These young caregivers are educated and know their rights so one can well imagine what must be happening with dog feeders who know nothing about dog rules and their own rights as caregivers. 

What wrong were these caregivers doing?

They were taking the dogs for sterilization. 

Isn't that something to be applauded and to be proud of? Isn't that service to the nation?

But instead what are they getting? Abuses, assaults and insults.

After seeing the video few things come out very clearly:

1 The common citizen of India who may be the most educated and wealthy knows nothing about the ABC programme.

2 The caregivers who feed the dogs face opposition from the residents of the area. The residents are totally ignorant about dog rules and dog behaviour. They generally think that dog feeding leads to their overpopulation. 

3 The fight between the caregiver and the dog haters has become very common and sometimes such fights take an ugly shape as it happened in this case as well.

Brij Mohan was a victim of such a fight which happened between him and his assaulter. The caregivers in this case were lucky that they were not stabbed or shot by a gun but Brij Mohan was not lucky enough. 

Is really the assaulter of Brij Mohan (pic of him with his dogs in this post) the real murderer or our fractured system?

Brij Mohan didn't deserve what he got for his selfless service towards the man's best friend. A life lost on such a trivial matter. How shameful and disgusting it is for our nation. 

The day is not far when many more caregivers will meet the same fate if our administration doesn't wake up.
