Meera Ahmed a caregiver and a resident of Nizamuddin West used to feed around 50 dogs in and around her area before the lockdown and post lockdown she is feeding around 80 dogs. She is being constantly harassed for feeding by her RWA and other residents of her colony. They are asking her to stop feeding the dogs. They say the dogs attack the residents, servants and children. Bad and filthy messages about her are being circulated. She is mentally being tormented by her association. Now the question is what has the RWA of Nizamuddin West done for the stray dogs?
Do they know that the dogs are territorial.and they won't go to other place no matter what unless they get them relocated?
Do they know that ABC programme and getting the dogs vaccinated is the only legal way of controlling their population and making their dogs free from rabies. It seems their dogs have not got steriized on time therefore such a huge number. Being the caretakers of their colony was it not their duty to get the dogs sterilized. It is actually they and the MCD who are to be blamed and not Meera for such a huge population of dogs in and around their area.
Do they know that the dogs do not attack anyone without any provocation? That they are considered man's best friend in other parts of the world except India.
Have they ever tried to know why all the dogs sit in front of Meera's house only?
It is because these cruel.and heartless fools don't understand that animals too need food. If instead of Meera alone, more people from Nizamuddin West were feeding the dogs then they would have scattered and not be sitting together in a pack in front of Meera's house. This way they would not be running together in a pack and chasing passerbys and frightening them.
Is it just the duty of the caregiver to feed the dogs of a colony, get them sterilized then hear all rubbish from the RWA and the other residents?
Is there a single RWA of Delhi who has taken the responsibility of getting all the dogs steriized and vaccinated of their colony? This is the love the RWAs have towards dogs. The truth is these people are just like our politicians who thrive and survive on votes. They will do what pleases the majority voters of the colony. People like Meera are handful so these RWAs start torturing them.thinking they are doing a heroic deed. They are opportunists who don't want to work hard in getting the dogs strilized nor they have the magnanimity to feed the dogs of their colony from their own pockets. They only look for short cuts to get rid of the dog population. Shameful and disgusting.

In another incident in Vidhisha, Madhya Pradesh when some dog haters made a complaint against the dogs to the police and said that they will kill the dogs if they are not removed then this is what the police had to say:
1 If the dog dirties the area then the public has a right to make a complaint against the dogs and then the municipal corporation will pick up the dogs and relocate them somewhere.
2 if the caregivers are so fond of feeding the dogs and protecting them then they should tie the dogs with ropes and keep them in their homes. Also he threatened the caregiver and said he will get her picked up too and relocated if she doesn't behave herself.
These are the words of the police which happens to be the law enforcement agency and the legal.custidian of stray dogs and the caregivers of Vidhisha. To watch the entire video of the police vomitting venom against dogs and instigating people to make a complaint against them go on the following link:

The very next day on 2nd June the majority of the people who obviously hate dogs wrote to the corporation that the dogs enter their homes and temples and their kids are at threat from them.

What should be the punishment for such police personnel who are preaching such wrong information and instead of helping the dogs and the caregivers they are instigating the public to act against the dogs.
We have still not forgotten how last year in the month of December 2019 by the orders of the municipal corporation the dogs of Dewas were picked up by tongs and dumped at the outskirts of the city. An animal rights activist Roopa Patwardhan filed a case against the municipal commissioner on whose orders the dogs were picked up and relocated illegally. The case is still going on in the court and the good part is that the brave and young caregivers of Dewas have also come forward as witnesses. The dogs who lost their lives and homes due to the illegal decision of the commissioner cannot demand justice for themselves so it becomes the moral duty and obligation of every citizens of India to come forward and ask for justice. Whether the culprit is the RWA, police, commissioner, politician or an individual he should be punished.

It's been more than eight months since this petition but the Chief Minister of Delhi has no time for the dog issue. The cases of man- dog and man- man conflict is only rising everyday but the govt doesn't want to address this.
While the EDMC had time and money to spend on obnoxious rabies awareness hoardings which has only spread venom against the dogs. It doesn't find time nor money to create awareness about the ABC programme. Do they realize how much time they have wasted doing nothing constructive for the dogs and the caregivers? There is a whole battery of caregivers like Meera who are important human resource who can help in getting the dogs of their area sterilized and vaccinated but the MCD has never used their services.
In these eight months a female dog may have already given birth to 5 to 10 pups and she may be on family way again. There are lakhs of female dogs roaming on the streets of Delhi who are capable of reproducing twice in a year.
While the informed and responsible caregivers are using their money, vehicles and every resource to get the dogs sterilized but not all have the knowledge of ABC and many who may have the kowledge may not have the means to get them sterilized.
Delhi Govt wake up. Turning a blind eye to this very burning issue will not stop the dogs from multiplying. In these eight months many new dogs have come to life. They need food, water and love but unfortunately they are getting hunger, thirst and hatred
The government needs to create right kind of awareness about the ABC programme in residential.colonies. The RWAs have to be asked to stop harassing the caregivers and inistead help them in getting the dogs sterilized and vaccinated.
Dogs are man's best friend and not lions from jungle who are a threat to children, servants and owners of residential colonies. Similarly the caregivers are humans from earth and not aliens from planet mars.
If the dogs do not bite caregivers it's not because they feed them but because they kown how to treat them. The children, servants, owners and passerby's have to be taught how to treat the man's best friend.
Although this petition is for dogs but I will fail in my duty if I don't report this cruel incident which has taken place in the God's own country, Kerala.
A pregnant elephant (pic in the post) in search of food entered a village in Mallapuram in Kerala and some barbarians gave her pineapple to eat which had fire crackers in it. The pineapple exploded in her mouth and her tongue, trunk and mouth got badly injured. In pain she ran in the entire village but she didn't harm a single human. She ultimately went and stood inside a river half submerged inside the water. Probably water may have been easing her pain and then after hours of suffering she died standing inside the water. Do humans deserve to live? Especially such humans who find suffering and pain of an animal amusing and funny.
