Meera Ahmad a caregiver of Nizamuddin West, Delhi was being tormented and harassed by her RWA and other residents of her colony for feeding the stray.
No person likes to publicly make a complaint against their own neighbours until the person has no other option left.
Anyhow it seems the RWA of Nizamuddin West have got the message loud and clear and have realized their mistake. Meera has withdrawn the post she had uploaded on social media regarding her harassment. It seems she doesn't want her RWA to get a bad name because of her. Anyway why she withdrew is best known to her and we respect her decision.
We hope the RWA and other residents do not harass her in future. Rather they help her in feeding the dogs and getting them all sterilized. Wish all RWAs understand this because opposing the caregivers, fighting with them and relocating the dogs or killing them is no answer at all. This is not only illegal but also inhuman.
We saw how in Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh a policeman instigated the local.people against dogs and asked them to make a complaint with the municipal corporation to get the dogs removed. He even threatened the caregiver Kajal Ahirwar of dire consequences. But Kajal was a brave girl and she approached PFA Indore. The head of PFA contacted the CMO of Vidisha and the CMO gave full assuarance that the dogs will never be picked up illegally by the corporation. Vidisha has no ABC unit so practically the corporation does not sterilize the dogs. It's very important that the corporation opens an ABC unit in Vidisha as soon as possible.
Had brave caregivers like Kajal not been there then probably the dogs of Vidisha would have been illegally picked up and dumped at some unknown location to die. Is is not unfortunate that it is the caregivers who are telling dog rules to the police and the municipal corporation of India and not vice versa. A pregnant elephant was killed in the most barbaric manner in Malapurram just because the devil's wanted to have some fun. They had implanted fire crackers inside the pineapple which the elephant tried to eat and the crackers bursted inside her mouth. Leading to injury and unimaginable pain. The elephant spent her last few hours standing in the water.
According to the Former Union Minister and founder of People for Animals Maneka Gandhi, Malapurram is a district where there is complete freedom to kill animals. No wildlife Act or Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act are implemented in this part of India. People here kill birds, dogs, elephants etc and the Kerala govt watches them silently. It seems no perpetrator has ever been punished in this part of the state. The Kerala Govt too has turned a blind eye to all kinds of atrocities which keep happening to the elephants in their state.
