Are majority of the Indians so cruel and bad that they keep beating the dogs and keep fighting with their neighbours for feeding the dogs?
Do they derive some kind of pleasure from all this?
Let's watch the following video and figure it out ourselves:
This incident took place last week in a residential complex in Thane (in the state of Maharashtra).

From the incident these points are quite evident:
1 Complete ignorance about dog laws.
In the video one can see that the opposers (dog haters) do not know anything about the ABC rules and dog rules that the dogs cannot be relocated. They are seen threatening the caregivers with police action. They are just so confident that feeding the dogs is absolutely illegal. One of them is saying that he will make a complaint with the Municipal Corporation and get the dogs removed. He is absolutely ignorant about the fact that the Municipal Corporation can only pick the dogs for Sterilization and not otherwise. And the police is suppose to be giving protection to the caregivers from such people who are harassing the caregivers and stoping them from feeding the dogs and not vice versa.
2 Caregivers have to face the ire and anger of the majority single handedly. Unfortunately dog haters due to ignorance about law are in majority. And the caregiver often face a mob.
In the video we see that initially there are just two ladies and a man with two guards behind them fighting with the caregiver for feeding the dogs. They are asking the caregiver to either stop feeding the dogs or to take them all in her home. Later we see one more man joining the opposers. The caregiver is still alone but the other side has now six people. And the number only grows and then they become more violent.
3 Wrong parenting the main cause of dog bites among children
In the video the lady opposer is asking the caregiver to stop feeding the dogs because the dogs chase the children and bite them. She herself is so anti dogs so one can well imagine what kind of parenting she must be giving her kids. With such parents the children are definitely going to be bitten by dogs. If a child is bitten it's not because of the fault of the dog but because of the fault of the parents. Also most of the time people just make false accusations of biting. They do it just to relocate the dogs.
4 In many cases the caregivers not only feed the dogs but also get them vaccinated
In the video the caregiver is telling the opposers that she has got the dog vaccinated against rabies but instead of thanking the caregiver the opposers are asking for proof.
Well, the truth is that the dogs in the colony are community dogs and to get them vaccinated and sterilized should be the responsibility of the community as a whole and not just a couple of persons. But unfortunately this burden has been taken by few brave hearts who not only feed the dogs, get them vaccinated, take care of their medical problems but also fight for their rights when they are told by their neighbours to stop taking care of them.
This happens all the time in India and it's all because of ignorance.
Whose responsibility is it to tell the people of India about the dog rules 2001?
Caregivers are doing it all the time when they face opposition.
But what about the Municipal Corporations of India?
When will they start telling the people of India the truth about caregivers and their four legged friends?
