Lucky was a stray dog who just like all strays of India who try to find shelters under the cars, benches or trees to escape from heat, cold and rain tried to find shelter inside a building.
On 24th July 2019 it was raining in Worli, Mumbai and Lucky just to escape from the rain took shelter inside Turf View building. And what happened next is beyond anyone's imagination. Lucky was so brutally beaten up by the watchmen that apart from having internal injuries he was also paralysed.
He was rushed to the hospital but after fighting with death for almost two weeks he ultimately passed away on 7th August 2019.
What was Lucky's crime?
He was just sitting inside a building to protect himself from being drenched in the rain.
What can be more cruel and barbaric than this?
And what is more shameful is the fact that this incident took place in the financial capital of India which houses the richest businessman of India and the movie stars.
Anyway FIR was lodged against the culprits and many people of Mumbai including the movie stars came out to protest against this gruesome act. They demanded justice for Lucky and also demanded for stricter and stronger animal laws in India. So that people dare not do anything like this with any other Lucky in India.
On 2nd March 2020 a Chargesheet has been filed and the next hearing of the case is on 24th April 2020.
We hope that justice comes soon and the culprits are punished.
Every day a Lucky dies a cruel death in India and it goes unreported. Even if it is reported not all caregivers go to the police and fight for justice for their furry friends in the court of law.
Lucky was fortunate to have people who are fighting to get justice for him....
