What happened on 5th night of January 2020 is nothing unusual. This happens almost daily on the roads of India. Sometime the drivers hit the dogs accidently and sometimes intentionally because they are just animals. How does it matter if they die or they cry in pain? The animal welfare laws in India only exist for the animal lovers and the animal right activists. The common citizen of India is not even aware of it and definitely there is no fear of such laws.
On 5th night a dog was sitting on the roadside. He was sitting on the road against the pavement as if to protect himself from cold when a cab hit him.
The driver could have easily avoided hitting the dog. Many drivers think that the dog will get up once he hears the car approaching but this unfortunate one was probably feeling too cold to get up and the driver was too cruel and blind not to have seen the dog sleeping. The driver could have easily stopped the car when he hit the dog but then he didn't stop there and decided to run over him. The man deserves to be hanged for such a barbaric act.
Watch the video and decide for yourself:
Winters are a nightmare for dogs in India especially in cities where there is hardly any green area. The dogs have to unfortunately sit on the cemented roads or cemented pavements and they often die of pneumonia.
Many parks in the cities have been banned for dogs which is of course against the law but who cares about law.
The caregivers who put sacks and blankets for the dogs to sit are often removed by the garbage picker or the dog haters the very next day in the name of swachhta (cleanliness).
Anyhow one such victim of man's cruelty has been this poor little dog who was just sleeping and was trying to protect himself from the cold.
He has been completely paralysed from the back and he is fighting with death at the moment.
Will law punish the cab driver?
Will people be a little more careful and sensitive towards animals while driving on the roads of India?
