Kerala the southern most state of India is also called the God's own country and Hyder Ali indeed deserves to be the resident of this beautiful state.
A tailor by profession Ali came to know by some employees working in a rubber estate that a stray dog has got trapped inside a dry well which is 35 feet deep. The well was around 50 meters from Ali's residence. So without losing anytime he went to see the dog. The well was quite deep and was filled with plastic waste, household waste and lots of garbage. The dog was sitting on the heap of garbage absolutely traumatized and jumping and trying it's best to come out of the well. Ali asked for help from all his acquaintances and friends but all refused saying that it was only a dog and not a human being trapped.
Kerala is the same state where by government order thousands of stray dogs were butchered to death few years back.
But that didn't deter Ali from helping the dog. He used to carry food and water for the dog and fed him thrice a day. He used to tie it in a rope and lower it to the dog. The dog in excitement and hunger used to snap and pull the rope which broke almost daily. Ali used to buy a fresh rope everyday and kept the dog alive for almost a month till a 7 member team of Emergency Rescue Force came to rescue the dog from the well.
They rescued the dog from the well and to everybody's joy the dog was neither sick nor injured.
The dog wagged his tail seeing Ali as if he was saying thank you to him and went on his way happily.........
For Ali all lives are important whether it be a dog, man or a bird. He is indeed a true man of God. He has given the most precious gift to the dying dog. His life.
