Neeru (M-9871459646) an old lady and a resident of JD block of Pitampura was harassed, humiliated and beaten up by her own neighbours. Her crime was that she tried to protect the stray dogs who were being beaten mercilessly by the same people. On 22nd night she heard the dogs cry out of pain as they were being beaten by her own neighbours. When she and her husband tried to stop them from beating the dogs the neighbors started beating them. Her husband was badly beaten and so was Neeru. Her clothes were torn and her specks were broken.

Neeru is a caregiver who feeds around 15 stray dogs of her area single handedly. She is not financially strong but that has never stopped her from taking care of the stray dogs.

Yesterday night she paid a heavy price for all the good work she is doing for the dogs and the society.

How long will the caregivers get humiliated and beaten up by their own people in the capital city of India?

Does it deserve to be the capital of India?

Is it not the duty of the municipal corporation of Delhi to tell the people of Delhi the laws regarding stray dogs?

They still haven't learnt anything from the Indore municipal corporation.

What are the elected councillors, members of parliament,  mayors and commissioners of Delhi doing?

What measures has the chief minister and his govt taken in the area of stray dog welfare and it's awareness?

While the govt has spent and is still spending crores of rupees in advertising about it's achievement in the last five years in the area of education and health sector. Couldn't it spend a few thousand rupees in spreading awareness about stray dog rules and the importance of caregiver and dog feeders in the ABC programme and in eradication of rabies.

Why waste crores of tax payers money on advertisements?

The same money could have been used in sensitising every colony of Delhi about rabies and how it could be completely eradicated by vaccinating the dogs on an annual basis.

The govt could have organized annual vaccination camps in every colony with the help of the RWA and the caregivers / dog feeders of the colony

This would have bring a peaceful coexistence between dogs and man which is completely missing in the capital.

Unfortunately the present govt has hardly taken any steps to address this very important and burning issue.

Is it just the responsibility of the caregiver to apprise people about stray dog rules? That too after facing so much of resistance and humiliation.

Is every thing about vote bank?

The stray dogs are community dogs and as per law no one can relocate them from their birth place and people cannot beat them or kill them.

Is the majority of the Indian even aware about this law?

The answer is no.

The caregivers and the dogs of Delhi are suffering because of the Delhi government's indifferent and apathetic attitude.

They just don't want to address this issue.

They are just busy appeasing the majority who are unfortunately their vote bank.

India has only politicians now. There is a complete dearth of statesman and selflesss leaders in this country.
