
Few days back the mayor of Shimla ( capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh) announced a scheme which will not only encourage pet ownership but also help stray dogs get a home.
The municipal corporation of Shimla has given incentives to it's residents to adopt stray dogs.
The city has a large number of stray dogs and to tackle the problem the mayor has announced few incentives which will be given to the people who will adopt the dogs.
These incentives are:
1 the adopter will be given free parking
2 the adopter will not pay garbage bill
3 the adopter will be felicitated by the municipal corpiration for helping the city in reducing stray dog population and also giving the dog a home.
Till now 10 people have applied for adoption and they shall be felicitated by the corporation at the end of this month.
The mayor of Shimla is an exception in the list of mayors in other parts of India. She is sensible and full of compassion. She knows the problem and is trying to solve it in the most humane way without harming the animal.
