What has happened to the people of Delhi? So much intolerance towards the man's best friend.
Vasant Kunj a posh locality in the south of Delhi is witness to dog cruelty. In sector D of Vadant Kunj a resident Anita (M-9810781364) and her friend are being threatened for feeding the dogs of their area by their own neighbour.
As reported by Anita three dogs have already died last week and they suspect that their neighbour poisoned them. Its quite hard to believe that all the dogs died together of natural.causes. So chances of poisoning cannot be ruled out. It's sad that their postmortem could not be done. Hence no evidence.
Anyhow the death of three dogs did not satisfy the neighbour. As claimed by Anita the neighbour has got two more dogs relocated. And today she called the Soujth Delhi municipal corporation van and got four dogs picked up.
The Municipal corporation cannot pick up sterilized dogs and cannot indulge in any relocation of dogs. So by all means and lawfully the dogs must be unsterilized therefore the MCD must have picked up the dogs and after Sterilization one hopes that the dogs are dropped back from the same location from where they were picked up. Anita will contact the South Delhi municipal corporation and find out where the dogs have been taken.
The neighbour is threatening Anita and her friend and telling them " Jo karna hai Kar lo" I will get all the dogs removed.
Why are dogs being tortured in such an inhuman manner?
Why isn't there any fear of law under  prevention of cruelty to animals act  in the city of Delhi?
Why isn't the Animal Birth Control Progrmme not being implemented properly in the city?

Who is responsible for all this mayhem?

Is Anita's  neighbour aware about the ABC programme? Does she know that killing, relocating or beating the dogs is a punishable offence?
Why are incidents of fights between dog feeders and neighbours increasing?
Shouldn't the RWA of every colony with the help of dog feeders and caregivers get the dogs of their area sterilized and vaccinated?

Is it just the responsibility of Anita and her friend to feed the dogs?
The stray dogs are called community dogs so shouldn't the ownership of these dogs also be that of the community? The colony as a whole.
Why aren't the RWAs taking up the responsibility of creating awareness about the ABC programme in their respective colonies?
Why isn't the Delhi Government and the MCD asking the RWAs of every colony to participate in the ABC programme as this is the only legal solution to curb dog population in India.
The Delhi Government has done a commendable job by bringing 24 hour electricity in the city of Delhi. It is now being compared to the city of London and Washington.
But what about animal rights?
Dogs are loved in the cities of London and Washington. Every third house in these cities has a dog as a pet.
But if we look at the city of  Delhi nowadays every third house pelts stone at dogs, relocates them, kills them or starves them to death.
A very  recent phenomenon has emerged. Post swatchhta abhiyaan.  In a bid to clean their colonies the  RWAs (Swatchhta Abhiyan) with a battery of dog haters are driving the dogs out.
Swatchhta has become more like an excuse to torture the dogs and the caregivers.
Is this what our honourable Prime Minster wanted from the people of India?
To use swatchhta as a weapon to kill the voiceless souls and to harass people who care for them and feed them.
Please think...............
