After more than 48 hours of searching and praying the dog was finally traced and reunited with her babies. The caregiver (Sakshi) found the mother hiding in a vacant plot very near Ashiyana apartment. She was too scared and traumatized to come out of her hiding
But she is still not home ( Ashiyana apartment). She is still staying in the plot with her babies.
Sakshi was really scared that if she brings the dog back to the apartment the guards and the RWA will remove the dogs again. May be even kill them or poison them.
So she contacted PFA (People for Animals) for help. PFA contacted Inovision security agency as they are responsible for the security of the apartment and the security guards are their recruits.
They spoke to the owner Major Randeep (M- 9818621106) and as a true ex army man he assured that his security guards will do everything to ensure the safety of the mother and her babies. No one will harm them or remove them. A copy of the stray dog laws were also given to him as he was not aware of the laws. This is the situation with majority of the population of India. They do not know the stray dog laws. They often remove dogs or shoo them away.
However, the RWA President Mr. Sachin Tyagi (M- i9810005770) is still a hurdle.
According to him the dogs never stayed in the apartment, hence no one has thrown them out. And if at at all there are dogs in the apartment it is because the caregivers got them from ooutside. And if they feel so much for the dogs and their babies then they should keep them as pets in their homes.
Sakshi is too scared and lacks the courage to get the mother and the babies back home.
Currently the mother and the babies are in the vacant plot and soon construction will start in that place. Then where will they go?
When will our Prime Minister speak out and do something for these voiceless souls? He was featured in the discovery channel and has become a role model for many animal lovers around the globe. But look at the condition of stray dogs and the dog laws in his own country.
Why can't our political leaders (Ministers, MPs, Mayiors and Councillors) tell all the RWAs not to kill or remove the dogs from their location but to get them sterilized and vaccinated against rabies.
How much can caregivers do or animal welfare organizations like PFA do?
We need governments support in this very important cause. The ABC programme is the only official and legal way to control the dog population and to eradicate canine rabies from India. Removing dogs from apartments and colonies will never solve the problem. Because they will anyway keep delivering babies and multiplying on roads and streets of India.
