The Issue

At the junction of Hale Road, Delahays Road and Park Road, there is no pedestrian crossing and no dropped kerbs (despite it being a key route for many local residents).

This is a vital crossing point for people travelling into Hale village, accessing Hale Croft Park, and for children walking to schools such as St Ambrose. Yet pedestrians are left with very limited time to cross safely between traffic signals, creating a serious risk - especially during busy periods.

Families with pushchairs, wheelchair users, and those with mobility issues are effectively unable to cross safely at all.

This is an accident waiting to happen. Trafford Council must act now to install a safe pedestrian crossing and proper accessibility measures before someone is seriously injured.

What We’re Calling For...

We are asking Trafford Council to urgently improve safety at the junction of Hale Road, Delahays Road and Park Road by:

Installing a controlled pedestrian crossing
Adding dropped kerbs on all sides of the junction for accessibility
Reviewing and adjusting traffic light timing to allow safe crossing for pedestrians
Conducting a full safety assessment of the junction, given its heavy use by families and schoolchildren
No one should have to risk their safety simply to cross the road. Act now before a preventable accident happens.
