Make Gluten-Free Menu Options Mandatory in All Restaurants Globally

Make Gluten-Free Menu Options Mandatory in All Restaurants Globally
The Issue
Growing up with celiac disease, it was hard for me to eat anywhere. I had to obtain my food through prescriptions instead of being able to enjoy a meal at a restaurant like any other person. As time has passed, the gluten-free market has expanded, but not enough.
Many of us afflicted with celiac disease find it frustrating that food prices for gluten-free alternatives are significantly high. Furthermore, many restaurants, including well-known chains like McDonald's and KFC, do not properly cater to individuals with celiac disease. Vegan and vegetarian diets are catered for almost universally, and while they are valid dietary choices, they are still choices. Unfortunately, for those of us with celiac disease, a gluten-free diet isn't a choice—it's a necessity for our health.
According to Beyond Celiac, it is estimated that 1 in 133 Americans, or about 1% of the population, has celiac disease, and it affects both men and women across all age groups (Beyond Celiac, n.d.). Worldwide, this figure runs into millions.
We call on policymakers and restaurant owners worldwide to understand the difficulties faced by individuals with celiac disease. We request that mandates be created to require restaurants globally to include a range of reasonably priced gluten-free meals on their menus. This would not only satisfy a considerable portion of the global community but also confirm their commitment to catering to the dietary needs of all of their customers.
Please, help give those of us with celiac disease a wider, easier, and fairer access to dining options. Sign this petition and lodge your protest for better and more inclusive food standards. Because, after all, eating out should not have to be a luxury!
About Celiac: Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the ingestion of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, triggers an immune response that damages the small intestine lining. This damage impairs nutrient absorption, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, fatigue, and bloating. Over time, untreated celiac disease can result in serious health complications, including malnutrition and osteoporosis. The only treatment for celiac disease is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet, which helps manage symptoms and promotes healing of the intestine.
It would mean the world to me if we get enough signatures so please sign and share post Thank you!
