Spotlight: City Councilman Pascal Jouvence
FOHL stands behind Councilman Pascal Jouvence
As Friends of Old Hickory Lake (FOHL) looks back on the long and difficult effort to stop the Foxland Harbor Marina proposal, one leader consistently stood out for his diligence and willingness to listen: Councilman Pascal Jouvence.
While many city officials dismissed citizen concerns or treated the marina approval as a foregone conclusion, Councilman Jouvence chose a different path. He approached the issue with seriousness and respect for the people he serves. He asked thoughtful, pointed questions of city planners, the Mayor and Council, and the developer Questions that needed to be asked but were not.
Most importantly, he listened. And that is exactly what citizens expect from their elected officials.
Councilman Jouvence listened to FOHL members, to residents, to lake users, and to the families who would have been directly affected by the marina’s environmental, safety, and traffic impacts. He took the time to understand the concerns being raised rather than brushing them aside.
His engagement mattered. His questions mattered. His willingness to stand with the community mattered. And his efforts contributed meaningfully to the ultimate outcome: the Foxland Harbor Marina proposal was stopped.
Councilman Jouvence is up for re‑election this year, and many FOHL members believe he has earned our continued support. His conduct during the marina debate demonstrated his genuine concern for the community’s long‑term well‑being.
As we enter an important election year, FOHL encourages residents to stay informed, stay engaged, and support leaders who have shown they will stand with the people when it matters most.
Our political action committee, the Friends of Old Hickory Lake PAC, is supporting Councilman Jouvence in his bid for re-election.
