In Response to the Developer’s Announcement Ending the Foxland Harbor Marina Proposal
Friends of Old Hickory Lake extends our sincere appreciation to the residents of Foxland, Fairvue, Douglas Bend, and the broader Gallatin community following today’s announcement that the Foxland Harbor Marina project will not move forward.
Throughout this process, neighbors came together with remarkable dedication by attending meetings, staying informed, asking hard questions, and speaking up for the future of Old Hickory Lake. Your perseverance and unity strengthened our community’s voice and ensured that decision‑makers understood the depth of local concern.
We are grateful for the countless hours you invested, the thoughtful engagement you brought to every step, and the respectful, determined way you advocated for the place we all love. This moment reflects the power of an informed and involved community.
While today brings welcome news, our commitment continues. The Army Corps of Engineers retains authority over future marina proposals, and Friends of Old Hickory Lake will remain vigilant in protecting the lake, its shoreline, and the quality of life that makes this area so special.
Today, we thank you.
Tomorrow, we stand ready together.
