EXAMPLE 1
Subject: Concern Regarding Gallatin Ethics Filings
Dear Executive Director Young,
I am writing to express concern about the recent complaint involving Gallatin City Council members who did not file their required annual Statements of Interest. These filings are essential for transparency and accountability in local government.
I respectfully ask the Commission to review this matter thoroughly and ensure that the laws governing ethical disclosures are upheld. Public trust depends on consistent enforcement of these requirements.
Thank you for your attention and for your service to the people of Tennessee.
Sincerely,

EXAMPLE 2
Subject: Request for Immediate Review of Gallatin Ethics Complaint
Dear Executive Director Young,
I am writing to urge the Tennessee Ethics Commission to take decisive action regarding the complaint filed against several Gallatin City Council members for failing to submit their annual Statements of Interest. These disclosures are not optional—they are a legal and ethical obligation.
When elected officials disregard these requirements, it undermines confidence in our local government and raises serious questions about accountability. The public deserves assurance that ethical standards apply equally to all officeholders, without exception.
I respectfully request a full investigation into why these filings were not submitted and what corrective steps will be taken to prevent future violations. Your leadership is essential to maintaining trust in Tennessee’s political institutions.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[City], Tennessee
