Tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m. at Gallatin City Hall, the City Council Committee will consider the amended Foxland Harbor Marina plan. While the developer has reduced the number of condominiums, this project still threatens to overwhelm our roads, increase noise and boat traffic, reduce public lake access, and alter the character of our community.
Key changes in the new plan:
Reduced from 210 condominiums to 112 units, but still a large-scale build in a sensitive lakefront area.
13,870 sq. ft. of retail and a 5,000 sq. ft. restaurant, creating a new commercial hub in a residential area.
A 253-berth marina with rentals for pontoons, jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boards, adding significant boat traffic.
Expanded amenities like a day spa, playground, and outdoor games that will draw even more visitors.
Traffic study shows major congestion concerns, recommending turn lanes, a possible roundabout, and restricted public boat ramp access.
Even with these revisions, the project will generate hundreds of daily vehicle trips, stress existing infrastructure, and pose long-term environmental risks to Old Hickory Lake. Now is the time to stand together. Show up, speak out, and help protect the future of Gallatin.
