I have recently started a campaign to make our village 30mph, I have spoken to the council and the first thing I need to do is get support from yourselves.

Billingshurst Parish Council Have showed their support and are raising the issue in their next meeting with the area highways manger.

Five Oaks is a large hamlet in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It lies about 1.7 miles north of Billingshurst on the Roman road of Stane Street at the junction with the Western end of the A264. There are narrow pedestrian foot paths ether side of the road and the speed limit is currently 40mph!

This is far to fast for the area being a hamlet and very dangerous for the pedestrians walking along the narrow paths to their homes, shops, school, Bus stop and dog walking etc.

This is also a issue when you need to pull on to the road as many road users exceed the current limit.

Compared to all of the surrounding villages nearby, five oaks has the fastest speed limit and has the smallest walk ways.
