Thousands of students are grappling with the English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum on a daily basis. Many view it as a challenge, not understanding the necessity of this subject. Despite it being a universally used language and moderately significant, the complexity of the curriculum has led some to a breaking point, including suicide in extreme cases. This is not just a curriculum issue, but a mental health concern that needs urgent attention. It is crucial to make ELA more straight forward and engaging for the benefit of individuals of all ages. It is also important to incorporate a diverse range of languages into the curriculum, providing a more inclusive and comprehensive educational experience that celebrates linguistic diversity. We propose a revision of the ELA curriculum, focusing on making it more accessible and less arduous, taking into account the mental health and well-being of students.
