From a deeply personal space and a realization that the earth is indeed our only home, I come before you with the urgent plea of a citizen deeply concerned with the rapidly deteriorating condition of our planet. Nature has been a silent victim of relentless abuse and exploitation - subject to ecocide, littered with fossil fuels and oil in oceans, and targeted with violent acts that have undermined the harmony and balance it once held.

The fact that 100 corporations are responsible for 71% of the global GHG emissions (Source: Carbon Majors Database), and the volume of oil spilled in the oceans is approximately 1.3 million gallons every year (Source: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), is a shocking testament to the scale of our global environmental crisis. A crisis that, if unresolved, threatens to push us towards a catastrophic future.

This petition calls for the enactment of stringent global laws that criminalize ecocide and pollutions caused by fossil fuels and oil in the oceans. These laws should extend to making all aggressive and violent acts against nature prosecutable offenses. Furthermore, we advocate for the imposition of hefty fines and restitution payments from offenders. Funds collected should be channeled towards restorative initiatives for ailing ecosystems, amplifying our collective efforts to heal and restore our planet. This also includes acts committed during conflicts and war.
