Make Disney Affordable Again

The Issue

When you think of anything owned by The Walt Disney Company, what are two things that come to mind? I bet those two things are how much money does it cost and how can I afford this considering Disney is so expensive. The parks, Disney Vacation Clubs, the hotels even the cruise line are so overpriced that unfortunately a Disney vacation is out of the price range for most families, even for a single day admission ticket to a park or a single cruise ship booking. The thinking of The Walt Disney Company is “how much money can we drain from the guests all at once” meaning the less money that guests have to spend in the parks, on cruises, at the hotels or even at the Disney Vacation Clubs. The logical thinking should be the lower the costs of the parks, Disney Vacation Clubs, the on site hotels and Disney Cruise Line; the more that the guests spend. Who wants to stay at a Disney owned hotel that costs more than the Ritz Carlton or even The Plaza hotel?  Disney should stop being a “rich man’s paradise” and lower their prices for all people and on all sectors within the company. When Disneyland first opened in 1955, Walt said “Disneyland is your land.” I am calling on The Walt Disney Company to lower prices from the parks to the cruise line to have everyone “experience the magic of Disney” at an affordable rate.
