Make Delta SkyMiles blue cardholders eligible for medallion upgrades

Make Delta SkyMiles blue cardholders eligible for medallion upgrades
The Issue
As a loyal Delta SkyMiles member and a blue credit card holder, I have always valued the benefits and rewards associated with being part of this esteemed program. However, there is one significant area where I and many others feel overlooked: the eligibility for medallion upgrades. Currently, only Delta Reserve and Platinum credit card holders enjoy the privilege of medallion upgrades, while blue cardholders like myself are left out.
This discrepancy in the treatment of blue cardholders creates a sense of unfairness and exclusion. Our loyalty to Delta is unwavering, and we actively engage with the program through qualifying purchases. Yet, the true value of our investments in Delta SkyMiles isn't fully realized because our purchases only count when made with Delta, unlike our peers with Reserve and Platinum cards, who benefit from other qualifying purchases.
In an effort to ensure fairness and transparency, I urge Delta Air Lines to extend medallion upgrade eligibility to blue and gold credit card holders, just as it currently does for Reserve and Platinum cardholders. By doing so, Delta will not only demonstrate its commitment to inclusivity but also strengthen the loyalty of a broader spectrum of its customer base.
Delta Air Lines has always prided itself on providing exceptional customer service and valuing its customers' needs. This change would reflect those values and provide recognition to all Delta SkyMiles members who contribute to the program's success.
I call upon the decision-makers at Delta Air Lines to consider this proposal and take meaningful action. Let us create an equitable experience for all Delta SkyMiles members, ensuring that our loyalty is rewarded equally. Sign this petition to make your voice heard and to push for a fairer and more inclusive Delta SkyMiles program for everyone.
The Issue:
Currently, Delta SkyMiles members who carry the Blue American Express Card are excluded from the Complimentary Upgrade list. While we understand the "premium" nature of the Platinum and Reserve cards, the current system creates a rigid class divide that ignores the consistent loyalty of entry-level cardholders who choose Delta for every flight.
Our Goal:
We are petitioning Delta Air Lines and American Express to provide Upgrade Eligibility for All Delta-Branded Cardholders. By allowing Blue cardholders to join the upgrade standby list—placed behind Medallion members and premium cardholders—Delta can demonstrate that it values loyalty at every price point.
Why This Matters:
Brand Loyalty is Universal: A traveler who chooses the Blue card is signaling their long-term commitment to the Delta ecosystem. Recognition should not be gated solely by a high annual fee.
Filling Empty Seats: On many regional or off-peak flights, First Class and Delta Comfort+ seats go empty. Allowing Blue members to fill these seats costs the airline nothing but gains immense customer goodwill.
Transparency & Path to Growth: Giving Blue members a "taste" of the premium experience encourages them to eventually move up to Platinum or Reserve cards.
The Request:
We call on Delta to update the SkyMiles Program rules to allow Blue Card members to be eligible for Complimentary Upgrades on domestic flights, positioned in the hierarchy after Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card members.
Join us in asking Delta to value every member of the SkyMiles family!
