Schoolchildren in one West London borough are reportedly being targeted by thieves riding e-scooters who steal their phones and wallets. One report suggested that some of these thieves had been seen 'wearing balaclavas' to steal from pupils in Ealing. The most recent incident reportedly happened yesterday (May 10) at around 4.10pm.

One woman took to a local community group and said she had seen "two teenagers on an e-scooter" attempt to steal "schoolchildren's clothes" along Greenford Avenue. Owning and riding an e-scooter in public spaces in London is currently illegal but residents in the West London borough are complaining that criminals are still using them.

Another man also reported "young men" riding an e-scooter while "wearing balaclavas" in Drayton Bridge Road, which joins on to Greenford Avenue. He later complained that he saw them "bothering" a boy who looked like he was around 14-years-old. He claims that the boy looked scared and that the balaclava clad young men looked like they were "mugging him".
