Petition for Transparency in Examination Patterns and Marks Distribution at MAKAUT
As students preparing for upcoming Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) examinations under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), we believe that greater transparency in examination patterns and marks distribution would help students prepare more effectively and approach their examinations with greater confidence.

Uncertainty regarding the structure of question papers and the allocation of marks can make it difficult for students to plan their preparation effectively. Clear information about the examination pattern, section-wise marks distribution, and applicable evaluation criteria would help students understand the expectations associated with their examinations.

Examinations play an important role in determining students' academic progress and future opportunities. We therefore believe that students should have timely access to the officially approved examination scheme applicable to their subjects, wherever such information can be disclosed without compromising examination integrity.

We respectfully request MAKAUT to consider the following measures:

1. Advance publication of examination patterns: Publish the officially approved examination pattern for upcoming examinations sufficiently in advance, wherever practicable.
2. Publication of marks distribution: Make the approved allocation of marks across questions, sections, or examination components publicly accessible before the examination.
3. Clarity regarding evaluation criteria: Publish applicable evaluation guidelines or marking rubrics wherever appropriate and legally permissible.
4. Centralized access to information: Make these documents available through the university's official website or another accessible, university-maintained platform.
These measures would promote consistency, improve access to examination-related information, and enable students to make better-informed decisions about their preparation. Greater clarity may also reduce avoidable uncertainty and support a more student-friendly academic environment.

We recognize the importance of maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of examinations. Our request concerns the timely disclosure of approved examination schemes and evaluation information, not the disclosure of confidential question papers or other protected examination material.

We therefore urge MAKAUT to consider adopting a transparent and consistent policy for publishing examination patterns and marks distribution in advance.

We invite students who support this proposal to sign this petition and collectively advocate for a more transparent, accessible, and student-focused examination system.
