Make Compass Road Safer in Manahawkin, NJ — We Need Speed Bumps!

Our neighborhood deserves safer streets.

We are calling on Stafford Township to take action to address speeding and traffic safety concerns on Compass Road in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Compass Road is a residential neighborhood where families live, children play nearby, and residents should be able to feel safe in their own community.

Residents have concerns about speeding, accidents, and close calls. We should not have to wait for a serious injury or tragedy before meaningful action is taken.

HOW MANY MORE CLOSE CALLS AND ACCIDENTS WILL IT TAKE?

What we are asking for

We respectfully ask Stafford Township and the appropriate roadway authorities to:

• Evaluate installing asphalt speed bumps or speed humps on Compass Road to encourage drivers to slow down.
• Conduct a traffic study to measure vehicle speeds and identify the safest locations for traffic-calming measures.
• Review available accident reports and investigate areas where crashes and close calls have occurred.
  Increase targeted police speed enforcement where appropriate.
• Consider additional measures such as speed-feedback signs, improved warning signs, and other traffic-calming improvements.
• Keep residents informed about the findings and the steps officials plan to take.
  We understand that speed bumps must be evaluated for safety, emergency access, drainage, and roadway suitability. We are asking officials to investigate the options and work with residents toward a practical solution.

Protect our families before someone gets hurt.

No family should have to worry about speeding traffic on their own residential street. We want Compass Road to be safer for children, parents, neighbors, pedestrians, and everyone who travels through our community.
