Why this petition matters

Clothing stores categorise their clothing items as Women or Men sections (or Boys and Girls). This communicates that clothes have a gender, however, they don't. Clothes are clothes and do not have anything to do with gender. Clothing is a way to express yourself freely and should not have a subconscious gender label attached to it. When someone shops an item opposite than their sex, it can easily lead to judgment. For example if a man starts going to the woman section, he will easily be judged and his reason for being in the women's section will be questioned. However if their is no binary section, no judgment or questions will be made.

This will also help the younger people when they go out shopping. Bullying and judgment, unfortunately, is still very present and can be very harsh depending on where someone is in this world. If a young person is questioning their Gender identity and wants to find a way to be more comfortable in clothing but when they try to find that comfort someone looks at them only then that will affect that person's emotionally and mentally. If someone under that trans umbrella is able to go in a store where there is no binary label, there will be less judgment and more comfort put onto that person.

Clothing Stores should be categories by what the items are so the dress section, the jeans section, the t-shirt section, etc. This will create a safe environment for anyone to shop and will stop people from the interpretation that clothes have a gender.

The only thing that is associated with the difference between the body of a female and male, are the way slim clothing is made for both sexes. But that can easily be categorised as a slim-fut section in a store and can easily be made to be tailored area because of different body types.

P.S. if I worded this really oddly or not in the best way, I'm sorry, I'm just a teenager pointing things out and I may not have the best words for this. So long story short, binary sections are stupid and enhance transphobia and give a slight meaning that clothes have a gender, even though they don't. Categorising clothes in a different way (that isn't binary or related to gender) will create a safer environment for everyone and educated young minds that gender and sec are different, clothes don't have a gender, and clothing is just a way that people express themselves.
