We, the students, learners, developers, and young professionals of India, humbly urge OpenAI to consider making ChatGPT more affordable and accessible in our country.

ChatGPT is an incredible tool that's changing the way we learn, study, and prepare for our futures. It assists us with coding, assignments, competitive exam preparation, communication skills, and even job interview practice. For many of us, it has become an essential part of our daily learning routine. However, at $20/month (over ₹1,700), the current price for ChatGPT Plus is simply too high for most Indian students.

With India boasting the largest student population in the world and over 850 million internet users, we are eager to harness AI to enhance our education and keep pace with global advancements. Unfortunately, the steep pricing leaves many of us behind, forcing us to rely on ChatGPT's free version or limited alternatives like Bing. We’re not asking for everything to be free — we’re advocating for fairness, accessibility, and inclusion.

Other global companies have already rolled out affordable, localized plans for India. We believe OpenAI can follow suit and set a precedent by making AI tools available to everyone, not just those who can afford them.

As a united student community, we respectfully request OpenAI to:

- Introduce a localized pricing plan for India (e.g., ₹299–₹499/month)
- Provide student discounts or free educational access for verified learners
- Partner with colleges, universities, or educational platforms to broaden access
- Consider special plans for underprivileged or rural students who need the most support.

Making ChatGPT more accessible in India won’t just help students — it will also benefit OpenAI. India has one of the largest and fastest-growing AI user bases in the world. By offering affordable plans or student access, OpenAI can:

- Expand its brand reach and loyalty among millions of young users
- Establish a strong presence in a tech-savvy, future-ready market
- Encourage early adoption and long-term usage among future professionals
- Gather valuable feedback from a diverse user base.

This step would allow millions of aspiring engineers, doctors, scientists, artists, and entrepreneurs to benefit from AI and become future leaders of the digital world.
