Hello I am a student at John Bowne High School and we are doing a project to change things at a local/state level in which I chose to focus on changing public transportation. Public transportation has been a major part of my live and many others because it takes usto places like school, or hospitals or jobs or to family and friends, since some might not have the money to own a car or some areas are not accessible by walking.

However in recent times me, friends, family, and probably a majority of people in New York have noticed that it had declined in all aspects such as the stations deteriorating and having garbage all around, old models of trains, buses, that are still being used that break down once in a while, time delays, many people being injured or killed while waiting for their ride/ being on top of it and much more. 

With these major issues that are happening right now, I wondered what the MTA planned to do. So I investigated what their action plans were and all their promises they said to do, in which I found out that most of their actions that were "planned" weren't even started yet or when they tested a probable solution that worked and benefited both citizens and the organization , they terminated it. 

I realized that if I want to make a change for the better in New York and make a example for other public transportation to follow with, I would need the community and demand a change to the Ceo and chair people of the MTA like Janno Lieber or Frank Annicaro as well to governor Kathy Hochul, to make better system by giving State Funding (instead of using mainly taxes and tolls ),  quality changes to stations, trains, buses, decreasing fares, better  security and much more, 

If all is possible, then we can hopefully see improved station remodeling, better security (instead of worrying about a stabbing or a gun ), improved train carts and bus models, better accessibility for the disabled , better train tracks and bus routes, less carbon emissions, lowered fares, and more.

Please don't pass up the opportunity to make a change for the better of New York and also spread the word around to let everyone aware of what they can do when we come together
