Make Center of Excellence (CoE) cancel a Problematic Anime-Themed Convention.
The Issue
This Grand Theft Auto themed Ani-Mayhem Weekend event catered to young adult anime fans is ran by a very problematic man in the space and is currently being advertised to be hosted at Center of Excellence, Macoya Trinidad. We are asking that they remove this problematic event and man from hosting there for the safety and security of the community.
Things this person and this convention have been accused of doing are and are not limited to:
- Stalking and doxxing members of persons who spoke out about the event and the persons in charge.
- The owner has been accused (with evidence) of being inappropriate with many of his younger patrons and Brand Ambassadors for the event (19 and under).
- Stalking and attempting to silence victims
- Falsifying documentation and self-doxing himself and members of his team for "good publicity"
- Impersonating legal representatives
- Sending brand representatives to persons social media accounts to further stalk and harass them online.
- Making very distasteful comments about women in the space.
- Accusing a competitor of faking their friends death in order to not compete with his event.
And this is just the things we can say as he will most likely try to attack everyone again for this change.org petition existing but as frightened as we all may feel for the excessive cyberstalking we have been experiencing, our belief that this man should not be tolerated in our space is larger than any fear that he can attempt to create within us.
We urge Center of Excellence Management to do the right thing when it comes to this event as we do not want our space of nerds to be tarnished and stained any further with his events and also to help keep the women and girls in our spaces just a bit safer.
Please note that while nothing in this statement has been proven in the eyes of the law yet, steps have been in progress to legally persecute this individual and some of his associates for the things he has been doing however there is ample evidence online that persons are free to read and make their own conclusions.
