In Canada we are not able to see the name of people in our neighbourhoods who have committed sex crimes. Many of these people are reoffends. Sex offenders should not be protected. In America they have a public record where you can see the perpetrators name, address, and crime they committed. Having parents and citizens unaware of the sex offenders in their area causes children to be at risk. They have the data collected but it is not public information. Our rcmp can read this information but us citizens cannot. Your neighbour may be a sex offended and you may never know. How safe do you feel with your children playing in your back yard or at a local park? I’m creating this petition to encourage the Canadian government to release this information for the public for the safety of our citizens.
