Make Bengali Mandatory in Public Services and Workplaces in West Bengal
The Issue
We Demand Respect for Bengali Language in West Bengal
Bengali is not just a language—it is the soul of West Bengal. It is the language of Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and millions of proud citizens. But today, in our own land, we see a growing trend where service providers, businesses, and public-facing staff speak in Hindi or other languages, ignoring Bengali altogether.
This is unacceptable.
We demand from the government that:
- All public services, private companies, and customer-facing roles in West Bengal must use Bengali as the primary language of communication. All companies operating in West Bengal must ensure their staff can speak basic Bengali.
- Government authorities must monitor and enforce this language respect through policies and guidelines.
- All private companies must give preference or priority to Bengali-speaking people over others while hiring. The government should have strict vigilance on this. *We do not oppose any language—but we cannot allow Bengali to be sidelined in its own homeland. Language is identity, and it must be protected with pride and dignity.*

Speak Bengali in Bengal.
Respect the culture, respect the people.
Because if you lose your language, you will lose your identity.
