There are so many dogs and cats already unwanted roaming the streets. Rescue groups & shelters are overflowing with unwanted animals, with most of them tragically being euthanized. 

Backyard breeders not only add to the problem, these poor animals have a very unfortunate start in life, often living in filthy cages/enclosures, with very little or no shelter, never having the privilege of their paws touching grass and not receiving proper vet care.

These animals are not able to lay in the sunshine, to exercise, to play, nor receive sufficient positive human contact, which helps a puppy become well-adjusted. 

They breed purely for profit. 

The animals that are used for breeding live a life of TORTURE and MISERY and are made to have litter after litter. Once a breeder is done with an animal (because it can no longer breed puppies) they abandon or kill it. 

Uncontrolled breeding and overpopulation again inevitably leads to the euthanasia of unwanted animals.

This is a daily battle that we face, with no end in sight and until the Animal Protection Act is amended to stipulate that backyard breeding is illegal and that sterilization is compulsory, more and more dogs will suffer. 

No animal should be used, abused and kept in these sort of conditions in order for one to make money. 

One would not do this with humans, so why should it be acceptable for animals?!
