Yes! As of a few hours ago today, it was reported that the FBI seized and shut down Backpage.com. This was discovered according to reports and a large notice on the site's page. We can finally rest easier knowing that this site is under the FBI's control to protect those that were victimized and exploited on Backpage. Due to the events with Backpage, lawmakers may now reconsider legislation that limits immunity of websites for actions taken by the users. This means that the owners of Backpage could be charged for their negligence and neutrality to the victims of Backpage! Investigations of what was happening on the site should continue, and those responsible should be charged for their crimes. Thank you very much to those that have supported this petition!
