Make Animal Cruelty Laws More Severe in Maine

Make Animal Cruelty Laws More Severe in Maine
The Issue
Moose was the beloved pet of Dr. Alexandra Roberts, Nic Stuhr and their two young children. On Friday September 30th Moose, a beautiful 3-year-old blue nose pit bull, was found by one of his owners, Dr. Alexandra Roberts lying dead in her front yard. Moose had a bullet hole in his chest. The bullet was later removed from his heart by Eastern Maine Veterinary Clinic. Moose was really special, he was well known in his community and loved for his sweet, gentle and goofy temperament. Moose's killer confessed to the shooting less than 24 hours later, as a result of helpful neighbors who provided evidence. The killer was charged with a class D misdemeanor. The killer, who lives in close proximity, still has weapons in his possession. He is able to continue living as though nothing ever happened. Dr. Ali Roberts, her family, and her community no longer feel safe. Please sign the petition to advocate for appropriate laws to pass. Moose's death will not be in vain, justice will be served! This monstrous, senseless act needs to be addressed more severely. #Justice for Moose and for all of our beloved animals in Maine!!
