The Miami Arts Studio 8th grade law class has been researching animal overpopulation in our area and we have decided due to the seriousness of animal reproduction in our area, we want to make and enforce spay neuter laws in the Miami Dade district. Countless interviews and research have proven that not spay and neutering animals is the main cause of overpopulation. This issue of overpopulation leads to many animals not being able to find a home, animals  in shelters having to be euthanized to make space, more feral animals populating areas, and allows puppy mills to stay in business. We want to make a policy that calls for all registered animals to be spay neutered within 6 months of registration. 

Before the 6th month registration policy, we wish to implement an educational campaign so pet owners and others in our community will understand and be educated on the topic of spaying and neutering. Many people are misinformed about spays and neuters so we wish to educate everybody. The more information on the topic people receive, the less overpopulated our shelters and streets will be.
