I, as a pressure sore/ulcer sufferer since 2015, am starting this petition to urge the NHS to make Amicapsil, a new treatment for pressure sores/ulcers, available to all UK sufferers. This revolutionary treatment has the potential to save lives and significantly improve the quality of life for those affected by this debilitating condition.

Before discovering Amicapsil, I endured years of constant illness and pain due to my pressure sores. I experienced severe complications such as sepsis and bone infection osteomyelitis, which required debridement surgery and even bone removal. My life was constantly at risk, and there were moments when I felt hopeless enough to consider taking my own life.

Unfortunately, accessing Amicapsil has not been easy for me. I have had to resort to fundraising in order to afford this treatment that has brought me immense relief and healing. Accordingly, I implore the NHS to take immediate action in making Amicapsil available through their healthcare system. By doing so, we can potentially reduce the number of pressure sore/ulcer sufferers and prevent over 60,000 deaths per year caused by these conditions.

It is crucial that we address this issue with urgency considering there are currently over 700,000 individuals suffering from pressure sores/ulcers in the UK alone. These statistics highlight an alarming public health crisis that demands attention.
