Hi Super Supporters,
The action on Tampax calling on them to ditch plastic tampon applicators has been fantastically well! There are letters coming through the door every day and people are starting conversations on their platforms, which is leading to a flow of awareness and action!
There is still time to join in, so please do if you can! Here’s how you can get involved:
Send a letter by email.
If you have not had chance to write a letter to Tampax yet, don’t worry! You can still take action in this way by writing your letter, but instead of posting it, send it to me by email instead.
Send your letters for Tampax to ella@elladaish.com with ‘Letter for Tampax’ in the subject heading. I’ll then print it off and put it with the others. For tips on what to write, check out the update here with more information. Remember to include your contact details in the letter if you want to receive a response from Tampax, this could be an email or postal address. Any information sent to my email address will not be used by me personally, it will be printed off and sent to Tampax.
Raise your voice online.
Post a campaign picture online and tell Tampax why you want them to ditch plastic applicators. Here is a step to step:
Get campaign pictures:
Go to the google link here to save any campaign pictures you want to use. There are plenty to choose from, you can use as many as you like!
Post online:
Once you have saved a picture, head over to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to share the image and post about why you want Tampax to take this step. Make sure to tag Tampax in your post and use the #EndPeriodPlastic campaign hashtag so I can see and share it. Here are their tags:

Instagram - @tampax
Facebook - @tampaxuk
Here are some examples of what you could say in your post:
I want Tampax to ditch plastic tampon applicators because they are an unnecessary single-use plastic which is negatively impacting the environment and it is totally avoidable. @tampax #EndPeriodPlastic
I want Tampax to ditch plastic applicators because I find them polluting my local beach. They are used for seconds yet take centuries to break down and there are plenty of alternatives. @tampax ditch the app! #EndPeriodPlastic
I want Tampax to ditch plastic tampon applicators because unnecessary plastic must be stopped at source, so that we can prevent the avoidable negative impacts downstream. @tampax #EndPeriodPlastic
Thank you for for joining me in taking action and for making so much noise, this is definitely getting their attention. Let’s end this second week with a bang and make change happen!
Ella :)
